Call for Expressions of Interest: for Canadian Presenters & Artists to attend the Canada/Arctic online cohort program and the 2025 Arctic Arts Festival

Event Location: Harstad, Norway
Participant Required Contribution (if selected): $1000
(All Participants are required to contribute to this subsidized activity. Artists can apply for fundingsupport from the Canada Council for the Arts, and/or their provincial arts organization to assist with this participation cost.)
About this Opportunity:
Expressions of Interest are now open for Canadian Presenters and artists looking to make connections with the Norwegian arts community.
Selected applicants will be invited to participate in 3 online gatherings with presenter/artist colleagues from Norway.
Additionally, applicants will receive financial support to attend the Arctic Arts Festival in Harstad, Norway from June 22-27, 2025. The Arctic Arts Festival is a gathering place for artists, programmers, and organizations to connect across art discipline, geographical borders, and hierarchies. Attendees will enjoy panels, artist talks, samples of works in progress, and presentations of regionally created touring productions .
Eligibility Criteria:
Presenters must meet the following criteria:
- Be available to attend the 3 obligatory online cohort meetings.
- Have previous experience hosting international work.
- Have the human and financial resources to program international work.
- Demonstrate the ability to return home and champion the work you have seen to your region and network.
- Have the capacity to build relationships across networks in Canada to promote International projects.
- Have the knowledge of the Canadian performing arts sector to able to act as an ambassador for Canadian artists on the International scene.
- Be willing and can demonstrate a willingness to encourage international exchange and collaborations
- Represent an organization that holds a CAPACOA membership.
Artists must meet the following criteria:
- Be available to attend the 3 obligatory online cohort meetings.
- Have shown that they are ready for the next steps for touring and attending important international conferences, given history and experience at local and regional conferences.
- Have had recent important bookings at festivals and performance events;
- Be willing, and can demonstrate a willingness, to encourage international exchange and collaboration.
- Hold a current membership with CAPACOA
