Canadian presenters interested in participating in a year long network development program with colleagues from Korea are invited to submit their Expression of Interest to join the Canadian delegation attending PAMS (Performing Arts Market in Seoul) and Hong Kong PAX (HKPAX), October 4-19th, 2024.
As part of the Canada-Korea Year of Cultural Exchanges 2024-2025 CAPACOA and the Canada Council for the Arts are pleased to partner on a year long development program with colleagues from the Indo-Pacific region, with a special focus on Korea as part of the Year of Cultural Exchanges planned between Canada and Korea for 2024-2025.
The Canada-Korea Cohort Program will strengthen ties between Canadian presenters and the Korean arts sector, with value added opportunities to connect with Hong Kong and the Indo-Pacific region. Cohort participants will participate in monthly meetings with Korean presenters and artists and participate in a delegation to PAMS and HKPAX as part of a yearlong opportunity to strengthen ties in Korea, Hong Kong, and the Indo-Pacific region.

About this Opportunity:
PAMS has been held in Seoul every October as a key Asian arts market for performing arts professionals domestically and internationally. As the largest international performing arts platform in Asia, PAMS celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
The inaugural Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX) is a major new international arts marketplace that will serve as a gateway into the Indo-Pacific region. This is an opportunity to connect with hundreds of presenters and producers from around the world to cultivate relationships and engage in artistic and cultural exchange.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible presenters must:
- Demonstrate capacity to work in/with Korea and with Hong Kong and/or the Indo-Pacific region more broadly.
- Demonstrate readiness to participate in a year long network development program with presenters and artists from Korea and Canada.
- Have previous experience hosting international work.Must have the human and financial resources to program international work.
- Demonstrate the ability to return home and champion the work seen to the home region and network.
- Have the capacity to build relationships across networks in Canada to promote international projects.
- Have the knowledge of the Canadian performing arts sector to be able to act as an ambassador for Canadian artists on the international scene.
- Be willing, and can demonstrate a willingness, to encourage international exchange and collaborations
