Expressions of Interest are now open for Canadian Arts PRESENTERS and ARTISTS looking to receive financial support to attend the Bienal Internacional de Danza de Cali in Cali, Colombia from November 7-13, 2023.

The Bienal Internacional de Danza de Cali, a project led by the Asociación para la Promoción de las Artes (Proartes), promotes dialogue between the various genres, generations and experiences of dance in Colombia. Since its creation in 2013, the Cali International Dance Biennial has managed to bring together more than 4,250 dancers from different parts of the world who have participated in 255 activities and presentations across Cali in programs that have gathered more than 224,000 attendees.
Program Opportunities
- To build strong international relationships in the performing arts.
- To consider new methods of working and collaborating together, where challenging environments push our boundaries and understandings.
- To assist in knowledge transfer across generations.
Eligibility Criteria
PRESENTERS must meet the following criteria:
- Must have previous experience hosting international work.
- Must have the knowledge of the Canadian performing arts sector to be able to act as an ambassador for Canadian artists in the International scene.
- Must be willing and able to demonstrate a willingness to encourage international exchange and collaborations.
- Must be a CAPACOA member in good standing.
ARTISTS must meet the following criteria:
- Must have a demonstrated record of international touring experience.
- Must have a connection to South American audiences.
- Must be a CAPACOA member in good standing.
Additional Information
CAPACOA will be responsible for:
- Airfare from Canada to Cali, Colombia
- 4 night’s accommodations
- Organization of travel arrangements
- Coordination of meetings and schedule during the event
If you are a PRESENTER, you will be responsible for:
- $750 contribution towards airfare and hotel costs
- All ground transportation within Canada and Colombia
- Daily per diem
- Submitting a final report to CAPACOA
- A valid Canadian passport with at least six (6) months of validity left
If you are an ARTIST, you will be responsible for:
- Contribution towards airfare and hotel costs pending successful application to the Canada Council**
- All ground transportation within Canada and Colombia
- Daily per diem
- Submitting a final report to CAPACOA
- A valid Canadian passport with at least six (6) months of validity left
**ARTISTS will be asked to submit an application to Canada Council for the Arts’ Arts Abroad: Travel program to assist with participation costs.
