As an increasing number of artist showcases, pitches, and conferences began to shift from in person to digital platforms, we can glean from past successes to look at our future practices – CAPACOA hosted a town hall on this very subject. On Tuesday August 25, CAPACOA and NAPAMA Canada have invited Umair Jaffar (executive director at Small World Music and CAPACOA board member) and Jonathan Campbell (head of programs at Small World Music) to expound on the successes and challenges of Global Toronto an entirely digital conference hosted from July 27th to 31st 2020. The theme of the 2020 edition of Global Toronto was ‘Acknowledging Opportunity, Envisioning the Future,’ and the panels explored a range of urgent topics in the music sector.
