December 10, 2012 – CAPACOA is pleased to announce a new partnership with Canadian Geographic and Strategic Moves to bring highlights from The Value of Presenting study to Canadians.
As part of this partnership, Canadian Geographic will feature a dynamic new thematic module on The Performing Arts, in the Canadian Atlas Online. In developing the thematic, Canadian Geographic will produce a series of videos illustrating the findings of the study, and will provide editorial coverage in Canadian Geographic magazine.
Canadian Geographic magazine is read by 3.6 million Canadians. Of its readers, 700,000 attended a live theatre performance during the last year and thousands took in ballet, opera, jazz, country, pop and classical music concerts. The Canadian Atlas Online is a bilingual authoritative and trusted source of information that is accessed more than 200,000 times a year by students, teachers and the general public.

The Value of Presenting: A Study of Arts Presentation in Canada is being conducted in order to understand and communicate the value and benefits of presenting for Canadians and to raise awareness of the role of the live arts presenter in the creative chain, in communities, in society. The study is made possible thanks to the funding of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Government of Nova Scotia, with in-kind and financial support from presenting networks and presenters from coast to coast.
