The Opportunity
Calling all Canadian artists and representatives! Apply to be a part of Snapshot Sessions 2.0, CAPACOA’s virtual networking event, from January 21 – 23, 2025.
Selected artists and their representatives will have the opportunity to pitch developed or completed projects to a range of presenting organizations over 3 days of networking and connectivity. All disciplines in the performing arts, including dance, theatre, circus, and music, are welcome to apply. There will be a total of 24 projects selected.
Each Snapshot of work will be offered over Zoom in the form of 5-minute presentations.
About CAPACOA
From artists to audiences, CAPACOA cultivates a vibrant, healthy, and equitable performing arts ecosystem as the national leader of Canada’s touring and presenting communities. Since its founding in 1985, CAPACOA has fostered and developed a pan-Canadian network for presenters, presenting networks, artist managers/agents, and performing arts administrators.
Through this project, CAPACOA strives to increase the visibility of Canadian artists and their representatives and aims to develop business relationships that may serve the arts ecosystem as a whole.

Application Requirements (mandatory)
To be considered for a Snapshot Sessions’ slot, all applicants must provide a summary proposal that includes the following required information:
- Name, email, telephone number, and website
- Company/organization name and address
- Video and/or Vimeo links to past productions and work in progress
- Description of proposed project (maximum 350 words)
- Objective of participation: i.e., develop partnerships, touring opportunities, performance engagements, etc. (maximum 250 words)
What We Are Looking For
- Projects that are in development, or have been completed, and have either recently premiered or will be premiered in the next 18 months
- Projects that represent work that is/will be ready to tour
- Projects that already have some backing in place (i.e., financial, commissioning, producing, in-kind support, etc.)
Additional Information
- Applications must be from professional organizations that are registered companies and/or registered not-for-profit organizations in Canada.
- This event is focused on new work and/or emerging creations. Projects premiered more than three years before the dates of Snapshot Sessions 2.0 in January, 2025 will not be considered.
- CAPACOA will provide a staff member to assist individuals in crafting their presentation.
Selection Process
A maximum of 24 projects will be selected by a panel of professional representatives. Applicants will be judged on the above criteria. Additionally, we will be looking for:
- Demonstrated potential for the proposed work to be of interest to audiences
- Works that are of the highest artistic excellence
- Representation from across Canada
- Representation from Indigenous artists
- Representation that celebrates Canada’s diversity
