In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, CAPACOA is pleased to announce a new calendar of events featuring performances by Indigenous artists. This project has been developed as a part of Artsdata’s work with the Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance to improve the visibility and discoverability of Indigenous artists online.
The calendar takes a new and unique approach, differing from other listings by linking data from multiple open data sources, and using queries to automatically combine information and load events into the calendar. It will be of particular interest to presenting organizations in search of new Indigenous talent, as well as to the tourism sector, by aggregating and centralizing event data for Indigenous performances across Canada, filling an important gap in the performing arts sector by providing a single source for event data featuring Indigenous performers.
