June 18, 2015 – CAPACOA’s Frédéric Julien was unanimously appointed as Co-Chair of the Canadian Arts Coalition by the Coalition’s Steering Committee.
Frédéric Julien is Project Manager at the Canadian Arts Presenting Association (CAPACOA), in addition to being an active consultant and a board member at the Arts Health Network Canada. Julien is well-known in the arts sector as a negotiator and a researcher. He will succeed Carmen Gibbs, Executive Director of L’Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick, who recently resigned after serving as Co-Chair in 2014.
“The Coalition truly benefited from Carmen’s leadership and experience during the last Arts Day on the Hill, and we are thankful for her contribution,” said Kate Cornell, Executive Director of the Canadian Dance Assembly. “Frédéric has been serving the Coalition in various capacities over the past three years and we are thrilled that he will now stand as Francophone Co-Chair.”
Julien will work closely with the rest of the Steering Committee on finalizing an election strategy and social media campaign for the Coalition.
The Canadian Arts Coalition is a collaborative non-partisan movement. We are united in the belief that a strong arts and culture sector contributes to economically vibrant, liveable, and innovative communities, and that strong federal cultural policy and investment frameworks leverage arts and culture’s contribution to the Canadian economy, Canadian communities, and Canada’s standing internationally.
