Canadian associations representing presenting organizations and festivals from coast to coast will hold a press conference to speak out against the state of federal funding for performing arts touring and presenting. Two key programs at Canadian Heritage are under-funded and can no longer meet the needs of the sector at a time of rapidly increasing operation costs.

This public event takes place just days before a round of cutbacks called for by the President of the Treasury Board, and six months before an anticipated $8 million cut to the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, which raises serious concerns for the future of live performing arts.

This will be a hybrid in-person/online event. 

It will be streamed on Facebook live, without interpretation, on RIDEAU’s page.

It will also be streamed on Zoom, with simultaneous French-English interpretation.
