About
Le Vivier is a major organization for the dissemination of new music in Canada. Since its foundation in 2007, the organization has evolved into an essential rallying point for contemporary music creation, while actively committing to the artistic community and supporting emerging talent. New music is a multi-faceted world that Le Vivier has already been promoting for 20 years thanks to its strong support for innovation, accessibility, wide-ranging musical expression, and resource pooling. Across its many mandates, the organization places great importance on its impact on and commitment to the artistic and social communities it supports. Le Vivier plays a unifying role by bringing together 26 ensembles, 15 emerging collectives or artists, 21 individual creators, 7 presenting organizations, 3 publishers: in all, 72 members to whom Le Vivier commits by ensuring the presentation of some 60 events each year and providing structural support by making venues, financial and technical resources, and spaces for incubation and reflection available, thereby fostering experimentation and exchange with audiences. Staying connected to the world, fighting against insularity: the benefits of the arts on mental health are vital, and Le Vivier understands this. Our aim is to make the most of our role as a catalyst in the service of society, while fostering artistic boldness and innovation in creative music! The organization is fully committed to providing an essential showcase for contemporary Quebec and Canadian repertoire.
