DJ Kookum

Kookum is a First Nations DJ and multimedia maker from the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Kookum has been making a name for themself and remains no stranger in the community.

An open format DJ inspired by EDM and hip-hop, this diverse-mix-diva is a force on the decks and always keeps the party hype, fresh and unpredictable.

This multi-talented DJ tours internationally, performs at music festivals, facilitates workshops, mentors youth and works as a video editor and music supervisor in the film industry.

DJ Kookum will rock your mocs off and provide fun vibes for the party, playing a mixture of EDM, hip-hop and classic remixes. The DJ will be accompanied by traditional hoop and grass dancer Beany, who will entertain you with a traditional contemporary hip-hop fusion.

Her mix of Hoop Dance and Hip Hop has been called “dynamic” and “exciting”. Her contemporary style is one of a kind and has a following throughout Canada and the United States.
