"I love this program. I feel really lucky to be a part of it. It's a great thing to be developing contacts with our peers across the disciplines and the country. I love getting to see each other once or twice a year and build relationships that will only strengthen with time."

About The Succession Plan Program

CAPACOA is pleased to partner with the Atlantic Presenters Association again this year to deliver a mentorship and peer networking program at the Contact East conference in Charlottetown, PEI from September 17 – 20, 2015.

The Succession Plan (TSP) is a mentorship and peer network development program for emerging and mid-career presenters and other performing arts professionals.  The program seeks to strengthen core competencies, provide leadership development and equip participants with the tools and resources necessary to be active participants in the development of arts and culture in their community.

The TSP comprises two components embedded in the Contact East Conference:

1. One-on-one mentorship: Participants worked with a mentor throughout the weekend (min. 1 hour daily), and will be provided with a framework to continue this support relationship for one year following the conference (Min. 1 hour daily);

2. Opportunities to network with peers in small and in larger groups to discuss the new realities of working in the arts and other relevant issues related to their work;

The program is open to emerging and mid-career presenters, agents, managers, arts administrators and other arts professionals from across the country. We will accept seven (7) participants to The Succession Plan program at the 2015 Contact East Conference in Charlottetown, PEI.

What Participants are saying about the TSP:

“As an emerging arts presenter, one of my critical needs is to build a network of domestic peers - both experienced arts professionals and emerging leaders in the field. This program offered me the fantastic opportunity to meet a great number of people in these categories. Building such a network gives me the opportunity to continually build my understanding of the music industry, with specific focus on presenting, in this country. The most important outcome of this experience is/was the 'immersion'. Taking four full days to intensively think about what we present and the way we present it as well as one's personal and professional trajectory is such a rare opportunity to be creative, innovative, and reflective. “

Stefania Paterak, Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall, participant

“My experience in the TSP was amazing. The most important outcome of this experience was that I now feel connected to a strong peer group and am excited about our interaction in the future. I feel that this is only the beginning.”
