August 29, 2016 – Flowing from initial explorations within The Value of Presenting study, CAPACOA is embarking on a new national initiative to identify and investigate opportunities for emerging digital technologies in the performing arts.
This major initiative will begin with the creation of a Digital Innovation Council comprising people with experience in presenting organizations, performing arts companies and suppliers to the sector. During the start-up phase, members of the Digital Innovation Council will provide advice on two research activities: a literature review and key informant interviews. As we expand the scope of the work, we envision that the Digital Innovation Council will grow to become the go-to place for strategic exploration and foresight about performing arts presenters’ role in the dissemination of live and digital performing arts experiences.
If you want to find out more or are interested in participating on the Digital Innovation Council, please contact Frédéric Julien, Director of Research and Development, by September 9, 2016.
This project seeks to draw from as well as inform Canadian Heritage’s consultation on Canadian Content in Digital World, and Canada Council for the Arts’ ongoing work on Arts in a Digital World. The Digital Innovation Council will be led by Inga Petri, president of Strategic Moves, and Frédéric Julien, Director of Research and Development, CAPACOA.
This project has been made possible by the Government of Canada.
